Northern Minnesota

5/22 after sleeping at a rest stop we made our way to Aitkin Minnesota to do some down days at a private campground. We arrived at Pete's Retreat early and Finn was quick to make a friend. He had a blast playing with the owners son Caiden for two days while we did laundry, cleaned the RV and just regrouped from a couple of busy soggy days. It was a nice place with a playground, fishing pond, sand pits, basketball courts and games. After our stay there we headed up (5/24) towards Walker to disperse camp at the Chippewa National Forrest. We started to do a nice hike with the whole family but discovered midway that we were covered in ticks.  We hurried back to our RV and realized that even the ground by our rig was infested with them. After stripping naked on the Forrest road and pulling off at least 100 bugs we decided to pack up as quick as we could and free dock at a Walmart an hour away. On our way to the Walmart we stopped at a local place for dinner  called Bullwinkles. We had a great meal (mine came with tater tots 😜) and then hunkered down at the big W for the night.

5/25- woke up in the Detroit Lakes and found a local bakery. The town was so quaint and the baked goods were stellar. Now it's off to Fargo North Dakota!
