Iowa part two

Image
We drove into Waterloo to eat a breakfast at Morgs which is legendary around there (huge portions little mom and pop place) and then Dan and Finn hit the John Deere Museum.  At the museum Dan had to call me and let me know that a Tornado watch had been issued and he was warned that if the staff got an update with a touch down we would all have to come inside to a safe room.  Luckily that did not happen and we decided to risk staying in Iowa for another night since the weather was bad in all directions. We ended up at George Wyth Staye Campground. The weather rolled in and luckily it was just half an hour of bad wind and rain lightning and thunder. Once it passed we took a walk around the campground and saw that several trees came down. This was our closest experience with a tornado. 5/18 lazy morning at campground  Then hit Imaginarium in Waterloo. Then off to Minnesota. Had dinner at millennium park in west concord MN.Then free docked at a rest stop.

---current location Glacier National Park--- 5/16 Off to Iowa to Harvest Host again at Hansens Dairy Farm in Hudson IA. I will just start by saying it was gorgeous weather wise. We arrived at 3pm in order to take the 3:30 tour. Jeanne one of the owners met us warmly when we arrived and then we hopped on the the tractor trolley driven by Jay her husband along with a few others to tour the barn and creamy. We had an in depth tour about what a dairy farmers daily life is like. We milked some cows, fed the new calfs which Finn loved and got to meet their Kangaroos. Yes I did say Kangaroos.  Then we headed back to the tasting room and made butter, nibbled on cheese curds and had our scoops of ice cream. After the tasting we headed out to our rig to hang out for the night which was now feeling hot, humid and super windy. Before we got in we noticed Jeanne and two of her granddaughters swimming in the pond. Jeanne invited us to swim and even asked he granddaughters to grab Finn s

5/12- Dropped off RV at Mercedes to be fixed again. While we stayed with the RV Dan and Finn rode into downtown Madison for a tour of the area. They ate at a fancy French place for breakfast. Van was fixed quickly luckily it was just a couple of cut wires to our sensors. Then the whole family went  to a horse show at the convention center. After our Equine fix we hit our campground at Lake Kegonsa and just hung out for the night. The next day we hit a street fair in downtown Madison (got some fabulous spicey cheese bread) and met up with a graduate school friend of Dan's and her family. We enjoyed meeting Jen, Bill, Toby and his parents. It was a beautiful sunny day so we played baseball, rocket launch and fetch with their awesome dog Rocket in their yard. All of us had a blast and it was such a great way to spend an afternoon. Then it was back off to the campground for the night. 5/14- Spent the morning in the campground and then off to Milwaukee for a Brewers game (vs.
