Wisconsin

5/12- Dropped off RV at Mercedes to be fixed again. While we stayed with the RV Dan and Finn rode into downtown Madison for a tour of the area. They ate at a fancy French place for breakfast. Van was fixed quickly luckily it was just a couple of cut wires to our sensors. Then the whole family went  to a horse show at the convention center. After our Equine fix we hit our campground at Lake Kegonsa and just hung out for the night. The next day we hit a street fair in downtown Madison (got some fabulous spicey cheese bread) and met up with a graduate school friend of Dan's and her family. We enjoyed meeting Jen, Bill, Toby and his parents. It was a beautiful sunny day so we played baseball, rocket launch and fetch with their awesome dog Rocket in their yard. All of us had a blast and it was such a great way to spend an afternoon. Then it was back off to the campground for the night.



5/14- Spent the morning in the campground and then off to Milwaukee for a Brewers game (vs. Mets). The game was terrific. Finn got free food and ice cream. And Dan and I sampled a local brew plus the obligatory Miller lite. First time in a dome stadium for all and they game was good until the Mets blew it typical Mets fashion in the 8th. After the game we drove around downtown Milwaukee and then headed to a truck stop for the night. 




5/15- Making our way to Potosi WI for a Harvest Host stay at a Brewery. Prior to arriving we stopped at New Glarus Woods state park to play, hike and eat lunch. Once we got to the Brewery we had a quick bite (not our best meal or stay) and then played some games on their patio. Finn's first time playing Jenga all had fun. Next off to Iowa!

Valdez & Haines

---Current location Prescott Valley Arizona--- 8/5 Woke up in Valdez and decided to explore the town after we did some much needed laundry and shopping. We stopped at their Gold Rush Festival which was small and then did a scoot around the town and Marina. After that we decided to head to Dayville Road to do a little fishing for salmon since we had yet to catch any in Alaska. Dan and Finn set out with poles and boy did they have luck. They caught 15 Salmon and certainly could have caught more. It was easy to snag the fish at this location because they spawn back to a hatchery located there. Since we were leaving Alaska in two days and had a freezer full of Halibut we shipped 17 pounds of Pink Salmon to the Worth Family. After a successful fishing afternoon we relaxed at Ruth Pond swimming and playing. We left that evening via the Richardson Highway and started to make our way to Haines to catch our Ferry. Oh Canada

5/1 crossing the boarder (F and A's first trip outside the USA. Crossed @ 9:22 am).  🇨🇦  We are on our way to drop off our RV to Roadtrek in Kitchener ON to finally be fixed (hopefully)!   Stayed in Kitchener Ontario for three nights. We hung out at the hotel, swam, watched cable and ate a really good steak meal. We had the obligatory Tim Hortons and FaceTimed with friends and family.  We also disproved the theory that all Canadians are super nice (met some really grumpy ones in Kitchener). Our RV was at the Roadtrek Manufacturer being fixed during this time. They did right by us they fixed our major problems and even fixed the damage Dan did to the body of the van the first day we got it 😄. Roadtrek even covered our hotel stay we cannot say enough good things about them right now. The afternoon on 5/4 we hit the road again. Vancouver & Seattle

---Current location Mesquite NV--- The road to Vancouver & Seattle 8/11-8/15 Disembarked at Prince Rupert on 8/11 and started to make our way south through British Columbia. We knew we needed to make it south for the 21st for the eclipse so we are hauled butt to get to Vancouver and then Seattle. Ended up staying the night in the field of a country music festival that was being held in a town called Terrace. The music wasn't our cup of tea but it was free which gave us time to check out what was happening in town. We stopped at the local senior center for their pancake breakfast the kids were a huge hit and then went to one of the best farmers market we had visited to date. Then it was off to Prince George. In PG we ate some really spicy Indian food (it was nice to have ethnic options again), played in a park and met some very nice Canadians at the dog park. We made our way to Quesnal for the night.
