rv dreaming...straight outta Brooklyn

Next day off to Otego NY to see a college friend and her family. Had nice meal and caught up with them and then we were off to Erieville NY to spend two nights with another college friend. Had a nice time chin wagging and relaxing with good company. Left the 27th to go to our college town. Drove around campus. Reminisced about all the changes and met up with another college friend while Finn played on another great playground. After sleeping at a rest stop we were hoping to get an oil change, fuel filter and NYS inspection completed in Brockport but unfortunately they could not do it. Therefore we were off to a dealership in Hemrietta NY. While work was being done we hung out at a nice town park. We made a trip to Nick Tahoes a Rochester Institution for a late lunch and then rounded out the day at another college friends for dinner. We had a blast with their family and hit the  road to Cleveland to see some of Dan's family. 

We headed out on Wednesday the 19th of April to a campground in Williamsburg VA. We met up with Dan's family in historic Williamsburg and went back to his families timeshare for pool time and dinner. Finn had a blast with cousins!  After leaving the campground on April 21st we spent time in Yorktown VA another great historic town that had some wonderful beaches on our way to spending the night at an Alpaca Farm. Finn and Dan had a nice tour with 50+ Alpacas. We enjoyed the scenery and watching the lightening storms in the distance. 4/22 on the road making our way to Otego NY stopped at a great Farmers market in Fredricksburgh VA. Was a rainy day so did a long drive went through VA, MD tried stopping at a park in MD for lunch. It was closed for what reason we don't know and was so cold and wet out we just stayed in the RV and ate and used our rear table for the first time. We continued on and stopped for dinner at a great playground in Newville PA. Then boond...

Laura S Walker was a nice campground we had an enjoyable evening playing outside and listening to music. We also thought the RV was fixed...to be cont'd.  Next morning headed to the lake for some nice swimming. Left the campground mid day an did a big drive day.  Did a pit stop at a nice rec center in SC where Finn made a friend named Sebastian. Boondocked that night at a rest area and started making our way the next day to my sisters house.  Arrived at my families place late afternoon. We enjoyed spending Easter with them. Eating at La Farm, doing laundry, decluttering the RV grabbing our bikes and watching Finn perform a magic show with his cousins. It was nice to have some down time before hitting the road again.

So Daytona here we come.  We picked up the RV went to a county fair where Finn saw a magic show and pig races! That evening we crashed at a rest stop.  April 7th we headed to Daytona for the day. For a non motorcycle enthusiast the Daytona Harley Davidson dealership was amazing. Small museum located in the store. While we checked out the beach in Daytona we ran into the NCAA cheerleader championship. Boy did we feel old 😀 . Left Daytona and headed north to a beautiful state campground in Flagler Beach. We played on their beach that evening and the next day Finn went fishing and caught a sea robin. He did this using the live shrimp bait we picked up. He got a kick out of the bait and how they jumped in the water.  Left Flaglers beach to head back up to St. Augustine to hit the RV place again. Boondocked at a Pilot and then dropped the RV off on Monday morning. While the van was being "fixed" we hit the outlet mall across the street. We got the call aro...

Okay time to catch up with what the heck the Cheswick's have been up to for the the past few weeks.  On the third of April we left Tampa and headed to Manatee springs state park. Unfortunately there were no Manatees there this time of year but we did take a boat ride and saw many small alligators and local birds.  Left the next day to make our way up to St. Augustine. We boondocked that night at a rest area just outside the historical town.  April 6th we dropped of our RV for repairs yet again. Picked up a rental car and headed into the oldest town in the United States; St. Augustine.  While there we had two good meals. A good biscuit place for breakfast and a Spanish restaurant for lunch.  Walked the ancient streets and enjoyed the old architecture. Picked up the RV but as luck would have it it was not fixed. We need two new batteries which could not be done until Monday.

After being in the keys we made our way to an RV report in Tampa. We were given two free nights so we took advantage of it. They had a pool and some resort type games that Finn enjoyed immensely and made a new friend named Bryson. The RV resort was a bit run down and dogs were allowed just not in any of the buildings or by the pool. We mention this because it was 90+ degrees out and our RV's battery was not working. The battery kept tripping the shore line so we had no power to run the A/C. Having Franklin made it impossible for all of us to just hang out by the pool. We managed the best we could and made sure that we went places with a breeze. On Monday the 3rd we went to St. Petersburg and had a lovely time hanging out in Vinoy Park. Had good cheese Danishes from a German bakery and just kept cool with the Gulf breeze. Then we headed back to RV park and Finn swam and played more games. He is in love with Foosball! Dan read in the local paper that a special car was coming to to...

 We must say Zachory Taylor was a great place end our day. Lovely beach, good picnic area and even a wedding! Finn flew a kite, made a new friend named Sage and we ate a bunch of gummy bears while watching an amazing sunset.  Sunday we headed north to Islamorada to a little arts festival in Founders Park. It was HOT and muggy. Good thing we were by water so we could all cool off. Well as much as you can in bath like water 😜. Listened to some good music played in the sand and rounded out our day with Cuban sandwiches and coffee. We also got some great news from our realtor that a lovely family will be renting our house...phew.  Then it was of to Tampa Bay ... (next post to come soon)
