key west

March 31st
Off to Key West. We took a hot and sweaty walk to the downtown area to Schooners Warf hoping to get some "good" calamari. During lunch Franklin met his arch nemesis the chicken. After being disappointed with the calamari we ventured off to Kermits to get a good slice of Key Lime pie. Kermit's did not disappoint. The slice was delicious....so was the chocolate dipped one and their strawberry ice cream. We then made our way to Mallory Square where Franklin continued to go buzzerk over all the free roaming chickens. On our way back to the RV we passed Truman's Little White House and all the beautiful homes. Right before we got to the RV Franklin almost got what he was hunting for. Let's just say this hen gave us a ear full and a middle feather. Once again causing a scene in another city. After cooling off in the RV (did we mention it was hot and humid) we notice we parked 1/2 a block away from mile marker 0.

We decided to leave the downtown area and do a bit of touring via RV. Both kids fell asleep and Franklin took the wheel in hot pursuit of those damn chickens. After driving by the original Margaritaville and the Southern most point in the USA we headed to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park.
